Alan Shearer – Geordie, leader, legend. The Gosforth-born Englishman netted an amazing 206 goals in 404 competitive appearances for Newcastle United Football Club and set his name in the history books, breaking an array  of records along the way. Notably Shearer became our record goalscorer (206 in all competitions); surpassing Jackie Milburn’s previous record of 200 goals (excluding war-time fixtures), as well as joining us for a then world-record £15m from Blackburn Rovers and now currently holding the record as the Premier League’s all-time record goalscorer (260 goals).
